SED23203 - PNEUMATIC & HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS
PNEUMATIC & HYDRAULIC SYSTEM - sed23203
Most fluid power circuits use compressed air or hydraulic fluid as their operating media. While these systems are the same in many aspects, they can have very different characteristics in certain ways.
For example: remote outdoor applications may use dry nitrogen gas in place of compressed air to eliminate freezing problems. Readily available nitrogen gas is not hazardous to the atmosphere or humans. Because nitrogen is usually supplied in gas cylinders at high pressure, it has a very low dew point at normal system pressure. The gas may be different but the system's operating characteristics are the same.
Hydraulic systems may use a variety of fluids -- ranging from water (with or without additives) to high-temperature fire-resistant types. Again the fluid is different but the operating characteristics change little.
SED24104 - ELECTRICAL MACHINE & MAINTENANCE
Students will be introduced to several types of electric machines. The subject focused on the basic operation and construction of the electrical machines as well as on the protection device of the electric motor, the safety purposes, and how to control the motor by using specific procedures. This subject also explains and elaborate the controlling system of the motor by direct current and alternating current in terms of its wiring design i.e. installation (star-delta), single and three phase, and also some basic calculations of the electrical magnitudes.
SED35203 - AUTOMATIC MANUFACTURING SYSTEM AND MAINTENANCE
AUTOMATIC MANUFACTURING SYSTEM AND MAINTENANCE
The course is purposely designed and focuses on identification and interpretation on technical documentation concerning manufacturing systems of machinery and industrial equipment. It also covers the description and techniques used for on-plant assembly, maintenance and repair of machinery and industrial equipment and their associated systems. For the application task, the students will be exposed and familiarized with the Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS 200) and robotics including the usage of hardware and software.
SED35302 - PROCESS AND MANAGEMENT OF MAINTENANCE
Process and Management of Maintenance Cohort 14 Weeks.
SMD11302 - BASIC FITTING
This subject introduces the students with the knowledge of hand tools and its usage techniques for common practice in basic fitting such as marking, scribing, measuring, sawing, drilling and bending.
Objective:
- Introduce the basic hand tools that used in workshop for metal and sheet metal purposes.
- Describe the specification of basic hand tool commonly used in the metal and sheet metal working environment.
- Teach the technique of hand tools using.
Learning Outcome
At the end of this subject, students shall be able to:
- Apply the basic knowledge and skills that is required in every mechanical engineering workshop for the metal and sheet metal working, and also the operations of using the hand tools, identification of the tools and equipments in the workshop as well as safety in the workshop.
- Use with the correct techniques and manner of hand tool in workshop.
- Demonstrate the skill in basic fitting work.
