SNP02106 - PHYSICS 1
Unit 1 is aimed to provide the basic concepts of mechanics of motions with fluid and material properties. The students will be equipped with understanding on units and dimensions, linear motions, forces, energy and power, fluid flow/drag, buoyant force and strength of materials. These concepts are essential since this is the foundation for their study in higher level of physics and in engineering. Unit 2 is aimed to provide the knowledge and the basic concepts of waves, DC electricity and quantum theory of light. The students will be equipped with understanding on waves, the basics of wave equations and their behaviors. Then for DC electricity, basic DC quantities such as DC current, voltage, resistance and capacitance will be introduced and analyze in various DC circuits. Quantum theory of light will touch base on photoelectric effect, line spectra in relation to electron orbitals and finally example of energy harvest in photo voltaic. These concepts are essential since this is the foundation for their study in higher level of physics and in engineering. |
SNP02205 - PHYSICS 2
This subject will cover mechanics of motions on conservation of momentum, Impulse, circular motion and centripetal force and acceleration. The course continues to cover on Electric, Magnetic Field, Electromagnetic Forces and Elementary Particle Physics. It emphasizes on developing students’ fundamental competencies in quite a broad area of physics to prepare them for higher level of physics, applied physics and engineering.
The other part of the course is called “Exploring Physics” that will emphasis on practical experimental methodologies, data gathering and analysis as well as evaluation and conclusion on experiments.SNP02305 - PHYSICS 3
